Advancing Issuers’ Understanding of Post-Registration Obligations

The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) conducted a training session for issuers on Post-Registration Obligations, focusing on the key regulatory requirements that apply after securities registration.

The session covered ongoing information disclosure, periodic reporting, key post-registration regulatory areas, and other important compliance requirements.

The training aims to strengthen issuers’ awareness and understanding of the Public Offering and Trading of Securities Directive No. 1030/2024, while promoting greater transparency, accountability, and compliance within Ethiopia’s growing capital market.

Building knowledge and strengthening compliance are essential to developing a transparent, credible, and well-functioning capital market.

Capital markets development is a key component of the Government of Ethiopia’s
(GoE) Home-Grown Economic Reform Program and the 10-Year Development Plan
(2021- 2031). In line with this commitment, the Capital Markets Proclamation (No.
1248/2021) was adopted by the House of Peoples’ Representatives in June 2021, which
included the establishment of the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA).
