Ethiopia’s Financial Reforms Support a Growing Capital Market

The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) participated in the Invest in Ethiopia 2026 High-Level Business Forum, where ECMA Director General Hana Tehelku joined a panel to discuss the country’s financial sector reforms.

She highlighted how the Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda including improved transparency, streamlined financial processes, and the development of a capital market has helped create a more stable and investor-friendly environment.

These reforms strengthen Ethiopia’s economic competitiveness, demonstrate readiness for global financial integration, and attract investors.

The ongoing growth of the capital market is opening new opportunities for sustainable investment in Ethiopia.
