The Ethiopian Interbank Money Market has reached a historic milestone -1 trillion ETB in transaction volume.

The Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX), licensed and supervised by the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA), has achieved a historic milestone as the Ethiopian Interbank Money Market surpassed 1 trillion ETB in transaction volume.

This achievement demonstrates the growing confidence of market participants and highlights the important role of ESX as Ethiopia’s capital market trading platform in providing a transparent and efficient marketplace for money market instruments.

As the regulator, ECMA reaffirms its commitment to fostering a sound, liquid, and dynamic financial system.

We extend our appreciation to the National Bank of Ethiopia for its continued support, and to all participating banks for their contribution in reaching this milestone.
